Bend Design Conference

The Bend Design Conference brings creative people from around the country to Bend for two days of collaboration and inspiration. Hear from some of America’s top designers, writers, architects who will explore how how design and creativity can drive social change. Participate in workshops and pop-ups around town that inspire creative thinking and stoke social dialogue.
Cross Crusade + Deschutes Party
October 28 | Deschutes Brewery (SW Simpson Ave.), Bend
In Bend, Halloween isn’t just for the kids. The weekend marks one of the final events in the statewide Cross Crusade cyclocross series with a stop at the Deschutes Brewery warehouse, where riders will battle it out on a temporary course that spans the brewery’s lawn, the adjacent street and neighboring amphitheater property. There are also races for kids and a 5k run through the course. Catch the races on Saturday and Sunday, then stick around for the annual Halloween party that takes place inside the expansive warehouse. There’s always a line out the door to get into this galactic-themed event, which is also a fundraiser for Oregon Adaptive Sports. Entertainment includes a bevy of DJs and live music from funk bands Smoked Out Soul and Con Brio.
Warren Miller’s “Line of Descent”
October 28-29 | Tower Theatre, Bend
Get pumped for ski season this weekend by seeing Warren Miller’s latest awe-inspiring adventure movie, “Line of Descent.” Following the world’s top athletes as they do whatever it takes (including parasailing on skis) to catch bigger air and find fresher tracks, Warren Miller movies never fail to provide jaw-dropping action. There are three showings at the Tower Theatre this weekend so you can get your fill of winter stoke.
Trick or Treat Downtown
October 28 | Downtown Bend
Celebrate Halloween a little early downtown Bend this weekend. The event for kids and families will have trick-or-treating at businesses downtown, pumpkin painting, a costume contest and a ghost hunt. The event starts at 1 p.m.
Monster Dash 5k and 10k
October 29 | Athletic Club of Bend, Bend
Get in the Halloween spirit at the annual Monster Dash, a running event that benefits the nonprofit Younity. Join the 5k or 10k race, and expect to see plenty of monsters and zombies along the course with you. There are post-race activities for kids and families.
