If you’re not searching for powder stashes (finally!) in the mountains this weekend, there are lots of things to do around town. See a classic movie at the Tower, take the family to the High Desert Museum or listen to standup comedy at The Capitol. Check out these and more ideas for a great weekend in Central Oregon.

Fat Biking at Pronghorn Resort
Standup Comedy
January 24 | The Capitol, Bend
Bend has a fun and lively standup comedy scene, and The Capitol is joining the movement with its first standup comedy night on Wednesday. The first Beertown Underground night will feature comedians Billy Wayne Davis and Juan Knudsen. You can also find standup comedy at Seven Nightclub in Bend on Friday nights.
The Big Lebowski
January 26 | Tower Theatre, Bend
Dust off your bowling shoes and get to the Tower Theatre on Friday night for a showing of The Big Lebowski, the Coen brothers’ 1998 cult-classic film. Take in the dude on the big screen in downtown Bend. (We’re not encouraging you to sneak in a white Russian, but we’re also not not encouraging you to bring enough for the rest of us.)
Free Day at the High Desert Museum
January 27 | High Desert Museum, Bend
Everyone gets in for free at the High Desert Museum today. Bring the whole family to the wildlife and living history museum to see the exhibits, from the birds of prey and the river otters outside to the new Innovation Lab and fossil exhibits. Take advantage of one of Bend’s best cultural activities that kids and families always enjoy.
Fat Bike Festival
January 27 | Pronghorn Resort, Bend
Can’t get enough fat tire action? Head east to Pronghorn Resort and the 2nd Annual Fat Bike Festival. In addition to fat bike demos, there will be food, cocktail and beer tastings, music and activities like time trial races, flat tire change competitions, a bonfire, s’more roasting and more. Tickets are $10 each and include entrance, food, drinks, and activities. The event is co-hosted by Pronghorn Resort and Project Bike and benefits Central Oregon Trail Alliance.
