It may feel like it this week based on the weather, but summer’s not over yet. Bundle up—here are five things to do (all outside!) this weekend around Central Oregon to make the most of the last days of the season.

Live Music Outside
September 22 and September 26 | Bend
Get your indie music fix at two of the last live outdoor music shows in Bend this season. Indie rock legends and Pacific Northwest natives Modest Mouse will close out the concert season at the Les Schwab Amphitheater. Extend the weekend by seeing The Shins Tuesday night at the Athletic Club of Bend, a fitting finale for the club’s intimate summer concert series.
Fourth Friday
September 22 | Sisters
Bend has the beer (well, most of it) and Redmond has the planes but when it comes to the arts, Sisters claims bragging rights as Central Oregon’s hub for creatives. Don’t miss the Fourth Friday arts stroll, when the small town stays open late for locals and visitors to see the wide variety of art being created in your backyard. There’s live music and small bites and drinks to sample as you wander through the local businesses and support the Sisters arts community. For those who were planning to attend Sisters Folk Fest before it was recently cancelled, this is a great excuse to reboot and reconnect with Sisters.
R’Oktoberfest
September 22-23 | Redmond
Thirty beers will be on tap at R’Oktoberfest, a two-day Oktoberfest-style celebration in Redmond. Held at Wild Ride Brewing in downtown Redmond, R’Oktoberfest will have live music from Wayword Soul and The Shaniko Band, along with stein-hoisting competitions, corn hole, and activities for kids and families. The German-style fest is a fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of Redmond.
Discover Nature Children’s Festival
September 23 | Bend
Spend the day at Riverbend Park at the free festival for kids and families. There will be more than thirty nature, outdoor recreation, and health and wellness activities for kids to try. Local organizations such as Oregon Adaptive Sports, Discover Your Forest, the Children’s Museum of Central Oregon, East Cascades Audubon and more will provide engaging and educational activities that kids will love.
Pacific Amateur Golf Classic
September 23-28 | Sunriver
Held at Sunriver Resort, the Pacific Amateur Golf Classic is one of the most popular golfing events in the region. Now in its twenty-first year, the event brings hundreds of golf enthusiasts to the region and is open to all levels of players. The tournament will take place on three of Sunriver’s courses, which have been named as some of the Top 100 courses in the country.
