SUMMARY:Old Mill District Birding Walks With East Cascades Audubon Society
DESCRIPTION:For the sixth year in a row\, the Old Mill District and East Cascades Audubon Society have teamed up to offer popular free walking tours that provide an opportunity to enjoy the Central Oregon outdoors. Walks are guided by an expert from the local Audubon Society\, who will take participants on an exploration of the migratory corridor that runs along the Deschutes River. Following the riverside trails within the Old Mill District\, the tours will provide an opportunity to see a wide range of bird species as they prepare for warmer weather with nesting and migration. Groups will meet at the Ticket Mill in the heart of the Old Mill District. Appropriate for all ages and interested parties\, from novices to experienced avian experts.

SUMMARY:April Show at Tumalo Art Co. features David Kinker Grand Canyon Series
DESCRIPTION:Seeking inspiration during a gray\, landlocked winter\, David Kinker revisited his collection of Grand Canyon plein air paintings and his own photographic explorations\, and discovered some gems yet to be fully explored. His April show\, “Painting Paradise”\, opening April 5\, from 4-8pm during the First Friday Gallery Walk\, is a pictorial\, mark-making\, colorful expression of a place where the scale and vistas\, shapes and colors are a holy grail for artists. \n“It is one thing to look down upon the canyon and glimpse a bit of the water below\,\nand quite another as a river runner at river level\, to feel the grandeur of this painted paradise”\, muses David. This show embodies his perceptions of a month-long journey on the Colorado River that few people have the chance to experience. \nTumalo Art Co. is an artist-run gallery in the heart of the Old Mill District open 7 days a week. www.tumaloartco.com; 541-385-9144.
