SUMMARY:Virtual Common Ground: The Meaning of Extinction
DESCRIPTION:Human success has come at the expense of many nonhuman species. Due to human actions\, the extinction rate is higher than the natural “background” rate. Some native species\, such as the Oregon spotted frog\, are threatened. How do we feel about the permanent loss of species–and how should we care for those that remain? Join this curator-facilitated discussion to express your thoughts and hear the perspectives of others in the community. \nFREE but registration is required. This is a virtual event and an email with login instructions will be sent the day of the event by 12:00 pm.
