SUMMARY:Earth Day Forest Bathing
DESCRIPTION:Find yourself in nature like you never have before. \nFeel your stress melt away as you get connected to your roots. \nWitness the magical transformation your mind\, body\, and spirit will move through as the mind takes a well-earned break\, the body gets some well-deserved attention and rejuvenation\, and spirit gets to connect with the beautiful bigger picture and serves up a dose of wonder\, fascination\, gratitude\, and connection. \nA forest bathing walk starts off with a guided meditation deepening into each of the senses\, and then you’ll be led through a series of invitations that offer the opportunity for deeper relaxation and connection with ourselves and the living world. \nWe will come together for optional sharing and close the experience with wildcrafted tea. \nForest bathing is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku\, which translates to “forest bath” and just means to take in the atmosphere of the forest through our senses (leave your swimsuit at home…no literal bathing required!). It is a practice of spending time in forested areas for the purpose of enhancing health\, wellness\, and happiness and remembering our connection to nature and each other. \nDecades of studies have discovered a wide range of health benefits associated with this practice\, including stress relief\, better sleep\, lowered blood pressure and inflammation\, and improved immunity.

SUMMARY:We We Rock You: School Edition
DESCRIPTION:See a play! Come support the performing arts community of Bend and Central Oregon! \nRunning from April 12-21\, get tickets through our website linked here. \nWE WILL ROCK YOU tells the story of a globalized future without musical instruments. A handful of rock rebels\, the Bohemians\, fight against the all-powerful Globalsoft company and its boss\, the Killer Queen; they fight for freedom\, individuality and the rebirth of the age of rock. Scaramouche and Galileo\, two young outsiders\, cannot come to terms with the bleak conformist reality. They join the Bohemians and embark on the search to find the unlimited power of freedom\, love and Rock! \nThe idea for the musical came after a meeting between the actor Robert De Niro with musicians Brian May and Roger Taylor\, in Venice in 1996. De Niro’s daughter was a big fan of the Queen and the actor asked if the legends of rock had never thought of creating a musical based on their songs. That was the beginning of everything. \nSince 2002 over 15 million theatre goers in 17 countries have been thrilled by this awe-inspiring production which is based on the songs of Queen with a book by Ben Elton (The Young Ones\, Blackadder\, Popcorn). Elton fashioned this hilarious futurist comedy around more than 24 of Queen’s biggest hit songs including We Are The Champions\, Radio Ga Ga\, I Want To Break Free\, Somebody To Love\, Killer Queen\, Don’t Stop Me Now\, Under Pressure\, Bohemian Rhapsody\, Another One Bites The Dust and of course\, We Will Rock You.
