SUMMARY:Shelli Walters offers an artistic visit with nature in her May show\, Water Echo at Tumalo Art Co.
DESCRIPTION:In a time when we may be feeling especially isolated\, Shelli Walters’ show\, Water Echo is a vibrant visual connection to nature and the world around us. These new mixed media pieces explore the powerful energy and movement of water flowing through rivers\, lakes\, seas – and our souls.\n“While creating these paintings\, I thought about how water connects virtually everything. In all its forms — liquid\, vapor\, ice — water has the magical capacity to change as it flows through waterways\, earth\, sky\, animals\, trees and people. Water always finds a way. Perhaps that is why being near it makes us feel hopeful.” \nLayers and layers of thoughts\, stories\, experiences\, moods — shifting one over the other — sometimes revealing a hint of what is underneath. This has become Shelli’s signature voice and style. Alternating layers of acrylic paint and collage to create richly textured and colorful pieces that invite you to look closer and discover your own story.\nIn lieu of our traditional First Friday reception while we are under temporary Covid closure\, we invite you to enjoy the show online. Acquire the art you love right here on our online store and enjoy free shipping of any artwork in the Water Echo show. Private viewing is available by appointment. We are happy to assist you by email at art@tumaloartco.com. We look forward to welcoming you back into the gallery soon! \nTumalo Art Co. is an artist-run gallery in the heart of the Old Mill District in Bend\, Oregon. Open 7 days a week\, it is an oasis of calm in a busy world and an artist is always around to talk with about the art. tumaloartco.com\, 541-385-9144.

SUMMARY:June Show at Tumalo Art Co.—Danae Bennett-Miller\, sculpture and original prints
DESCRIPTION:Danae Bennett-Miller’s exhibit\, “Feathers & Fur”\, opens June 5\, from 4-7pm. The show includes a large sculpture of a deer\, medium and small bird sculptures and new monoprints. All are one-of-a kind. Danae’s new work is about connecting with feelings past and present. “Animals have supported my emotional well being\, and energized my artwork for 40 years.” \nThe impetus to create bird sculptures has come from Danae’s time in isolation on her ranch\, where she observes the activities of birds and animals daily. “the birds symbolize freedom to me. They can fly wherever they want to and don’t know any borders. Their softness\, color and movement inspire me to capture that feeling in bronze with iridescent patinas.” \nTumalo Art Co.’s June opening will follow the “new-normal” requirements—limiting the number of visitors in the gallery at one time\, sanitizing often and requesting that everyone wear masks. Our first opening in over two months\, we are excited to welcome our patrons back and are open in June regular hours\, 10-7 Mon-Sat and 11-6 on Sun. tumaloartco.com; art@tumaloartco.com.
