Will the truth win in this dazzling\, music-filled production? \n\n“Thou and I are too wise to woo peaceably” \n\nRomance\, wit\, and mistaken identities fuel this new staging of Shakespeare’s beloved comedy of tricks! Don Pedro’s army has just returned home victorious after the war. Love is in the air\, even as two of history’s most tumultuous couples—Benedick and Beatrice\, and Claudio and Hero—volley hilarious quips and damning accusations back and forth. Will the truth win in this mischievous game of love? Find out in this dazzling\, music-filled production directed by Miriam A. Laube\, who brings her 17 seasons of OSF experience to this Shakespeare favorite\, lighting up the Allen Elizabethan Theatre all summer. All the details here. \n\nWest Coast Premiere\nJane Eyre \nAdapted by Elizabeth Williamson from the novel by Charlotte Brontë\nDirected by Dawn Monique Williams \nMay 31 – October 11\, 2024\nAllen Elizabethan Theatre\n\n“I am no bird; and no net ensnares me” \n\nOne of the most beloved heroines in literary history shines bright in this production that infuses a classic Gothic Romance with the sound and feel of Southern Gothic. But as she slowly falls in love with her moody employer\, she discovers that he—and his home—are surrounded by dark secrets. With only her resilience and wits to guide her\, how will Jane save her chance for happiness? Elizabeth Williamson’s fresh adaptation is directed by Dawn Monique Williams\, who helmed our lush 2023 staging of Twelfth Night. \n\nVirgins to Villains: My Journey with Shakespeare’s Women \nCreated and performed by Robin Goodrin Nordli\nDirected by Penny Metropulos\nMay 16 – July 19\, 2024\nThomas Theatre\nThe women of Shakespeare—from an insider\nIn this witty\, insightful\, and revealing one-woman show\, actress Robin Goodrin Nordli draws from her experiences of performing in 61 productions of 30 plays by William Shakespeare. From the innocent virgins of her past to the vindictive villains of her present\, Robin explores her own life through the prism of her relationship with Shakespeare’s women.

Join us for one or both days. \nDifficulty level: Easy/Medium \nItinerary: Volunteers are welcome to arrive on-site or carpool from Think Wild starting at 8 am. Planting will take place between 9AM and 5PM on Tuesday 5/28 and Wednesday\, 5/29. Come one day or both! You have the opportunity to dry camp at the project site on Tuesday night\, which should make for a unique and quite night under the waning gibbous moon. \nTasks will include: Digging in soft and rocky soils\, planting sticks\, installing fencing\, pounding t-posts in the ground\, hiking\, carrying moderately heavy loads of supplies\, shoveling dirt\, mapping plants within each plot\, and installing wildlife cameras. \nWhat you’ll need: A positive attitude and hard work ethic; Plan to bring clothes and food to keep you comfortable throughout the day. There are no bathrooms on site\, but plenty of places to find privacy. \nAbout the location: The meandering section of the Deschutes River is a gorgeous piece of public land with significant wildlife viewing opportunities. This section of the Deschutes River maintains a distinctive place within the National System of Wild and Scenic Rivers. Established by Congress from 1975 to 1988 these rivers were selected for their outstandingly remarkable values such as recreational\, wildlife\, historic\, cultural\, or other similar values. Volunteers will be an essential part of this new project supporting sensitive wildlife\, and discuss beaver\, wildlife habitat\, and riparian restoration. \nAdvance Training and Orientation: Please be sure to also signup for the April 14 Orientation and Training workshop if you plan to participate in this project. \nWe’ll need about 15 people for this project – so share this with your friends and make a fun trip out of it while helping to restore beaver habitat! \nContact maureen@thinkwildco.org (541) 699-1606 with questions about this event

SUMMARY:Forest Bathing
DESCRIPTION:Find yourself in nature like you never have before. \nFeel your stress melt away as you get connected to your roots. \nWitness the magical transformation your mind\, body\, and spirit will move through as the mind takes a well-earned break\, the body gets some well-deserved attention and rejuvenation\, and spirit gets to connect with the beautiful bigger picture and serves up a dose of wonder\, fascination\, gratitude\, and connection. \nA forest bathing walk starts off with a guided meditation deepening into each of the senses\, and then you’ll be led through a series of invitations that offer the opportunity for deeper relaxation and connection with ourselves and the living world. \nWe will come together for optional sharing and close the experience with wildcrafted tea. \nForest bathing is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku\, which translates to “forest bath” and just means to take in the atmosphere of the forest through our senses (leave your swimsuit at home…no literal bathing required!). It is a practice of spending time in forested areas for the purpose of enhancing health\, wellness\, and happiness and remembering our connection to nature and each other. \nDecades of studies have discovered a wide range of health benefits associated with this practice\, including stress relief\, better sleep\, lowered blood pressure and inflammation\, and improved immunity.
