SUMMARY:Help Repair + Replace Fencing in Logan Valley – 5-Day Volunteer Opportunity!
DESCRIPTION:Help Repair/Replace Fencing in Logan Valley – 5-Day Volunteer Opportunity!\nJoin us for a multi-day restoration project supporting bull trout and beaver habitat in one of Oregon’s most scenic valleys – at the headwaters of the Malheur River! \nDates: September 3-7\, 2025 \nDifficulty level: Moderate–High (physical labor\, uneven terrain\, remote location) \nItinerary:\nVolunteers are welcome to join for one or two days\, or camp with us for the full week! Work hours will be approximately 9 AM – 5 PM each day. \nCarpool from Think Wild in Bend or meet us onsite (20 miles east of Seneca\, OR) \nTasks: Help repair and install wildlife-friendly fencing to support native trout recovery and improve riparian habitat to support the return of beaver. Tasks will include removing or repairing the old barbed-wire fence and carrying and staging fencing materials across meadows and creeks. Your hands-on work will help reduce livestock pressure on sensitive riparian areas and ensure restoration efforts remain successful. \nWhat You’ll Need: A positive attitude\, a strong work ethic\, and a collaborative mindset. Plan to bring clothes and food to keep you comfortable throughout the day\, as well as camping equipment if you aim to camp. There are no bathrooms on-site. \nAbout the Project: This project is part of a broader effort funded by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to restore bull trout habitat and support future beaver presence in the Upper Malheur watershed. Think Wild\, the Burns Paiute Tribe\, ONDA\, USFS\, and Lomakatsi Restoration Project are all collaborating to improve stream and wetland conditions across this culturally and ecologically important landscape. \nVolunteers will be an essential part of this project and will support works already initiated by the Tribe. We will learn about and discuss beaver\, Bull trout\, endemic plants\, wildlife habitat\, barriers to habitat connectivity\, and riparian restoration. \nRSVP to reserve your spot!\nWe’re looking for 6 volunteers per day\, so feel free to invite a friend. Let us know which dates you can attend when you sign up. \nQuestions about this event? Contact Maureen@thinkwildco.org

SUMMARY:September Exhibit at Tumalo Art Co—Adell Shetterly "Throughline"
DESCRIPTION:Printmaker Adell Shetterly opens “Throughline”\, September 5\, with a reception from 3-7pm during the Old Mill District First Friday Gallery Walk. \nThroughline speaks not only to what connects these works\, but also what connects Adell to the practice of printmaking itself. It’s about trust in process\, in repetition\, in growth and progression; a celebration of the tactile language of printmaking. “There’s no single narrative here\, but perhaps\, in the rhythm\, the spaces or the edges where the shapes meet you’ll discover a thread in the spaces between that resonates quietly or feel unexpectedly familiar echoing your own story.” \nAdell works in a range of printmaking techniques\, including monotype\, monoprint\, collagraph\, and linocut\, at times integrating mixed media. For her\, the heart of her work lies not only in the finished piece but in the journey of discovering it—a pursuit of creativity\, curiosity\, and connection. \nTumalo Art Co. is an artist-run gallery in the heart of the Old Mill District open 7 days a week. tumaloartco.com; 541-385-9144.
