DESCRIPTION:Come on an adventure! \nAlmost everybody has bones. Birds\, bears\, and bobcats do. What about you? Let’s look at different types of bones and why they are important. \nChildren ages 3-5 and their caregivers investigate science\, art\, music\, stories\, and culture in a fun\, hands-on manner. Don backpacks filled with exciting artifacts while journeying through the Museum’s nature trails and exhibits. Foster artistic expression in your little one and take home activities to continue the learning. New themes weekly! \n$15 per child\, Members receive 20% discount. Non-members pay Museum admission for accompanying adult. $5 materials fee for siblings younger than 3 who participate in the crafts.

DESCRIPTION:Go With the Flow: Restoration and Resilience in Stream Systems and the Human Gut* \nDr. Matt Orr\, assistant professor at OSU-Cascades\, will discuss how disturbance in Central Oregon stream systems has led to habitat degradation—and how disturbance of the human gut from antibiotics and an industrial diet leads to chronic diseases such as obesity\, autoimmunity and cancer. He will present progress being made to better understand and repair each system. \n*Please note that the December Natural History Pub will take place at the Museum. \nRimrock Café will be open 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm!
