Cara speaks to her upbringing as a Deaf woman navigating an auditory world\, and how the outdoors became a place of connection when spoken words fell short. Through sport and shared movement\, she traces a quiet path toward confidence\, leadership\, and belonging and how those experiences shaped a deeper commitment\, through Oregon Adaptive Sports\, to creating access and community in the outdoors. \nA live sign language interpreter will be onsite making this evening more accessible for all!

DESCRIPTION:Come join Women Of COTA for a Bike Mechanic 101 clinic in partnership with Between Evergreens taught by Sarah “Eddie” Edwards! She will cover all the basics of bike anatomy\, things to look out for\, common issues\, how to fix them\, and more! The goal is to gain knowledge and confidence out on the trails while building connections with other female identifying mountain bikers in Central Oregon. No experience or previous knowledge is needed\, Eddie will be catering the talk to all knowledge levels so that everyone takes something away from the night. This will be a classroom-style clinic\, no bikes are necessary! Just bring yourself and something for note taking. \nThere is no cost for this event but a suggested donation of $20 to COTA would be simply sweet! \nSpecial thanks to Embark Coworking Space!
