Celebrate Mt. Bachelor’s birthday, listen to traditional holiday music or go on a snowshoe tour in the woods. There are a lot of great events for the season happening around Central Oregon this weekend.

Mt. Bachelor’s 60th Birthday
December 19 | Mt. Bachelor | Prices vary

Celebrate the resort’s 60th birthday on Wednesday with deals and prizes all day at Mt. Bachelor. Red Chair will only cost $3 to ride and you’ll be entered to win a raffle. There will also be deals on the food at West Village and a birthday cake rolled out in the afternoon to celebrate the resort.

A Swingin’ Tower Christmas
December 21-23 | Tower Theatre, Bend | $12-$17

Local singers and dancers and the fourteen-piece brass band will take over the Tower Theatre for the annual Swingin’ Tower Christmas performance. It’s a family- friendly performance of songs and stories that will get everyone into the holiday spirit.

Central Oregon Mastersingers
December 21 | The Old Mill District | Free

The Central Oregon Mastersingers, an award-winning choir in Bend, will be performing at free concert at The Old Mill District on Friday. From 5 to 6 p.m. you can catch them singing a variety of traditional Christmas carols.

Snowshoe Tours Begin
December 22 | Mt. Bachelor | Free, but reservations required

With a blanket of snow in the mountains, it’s time to get out into the woods and explore this winter. Discover Your Forest, in a partnership with the Deschutes National Forest and Mt. Bachelor, are once again offering free snowshoe tours. Step into the forest with a ranger who will lead you on a fun and educational snowshoeing tour.

Watkins Glen
December 22 | The Belfry, Sisters

Oregon-based rock band Watkins Glen will be performing at the The Belfry in Sisters on Saturday night. Watkins Glen covers some of the classic rock groups like The Band, The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers Band and Little Feat.
