View sensational local and national art at dozens of businesses downtown on the first Friday of every month. Shops are matched with artists and stay open late. Many businesses will serve food and wine as they welcome you in to enjoy their space and this wonderful evening.

Each year, Bend’s holiday season kicks off with the community Christmas tree lighting. Local choirs will lead the crowd in Christmas carols and sing festive holiday songs. The event begins at 6 p.m., and the tree will be lit by Santa at 6:59 p.m. Free. Drake Park.

Be a part of the kickoff to the Bend Christmas Parade at the annual Jingle Bell Run. Dress up in holiday gear to walk or run in the 5k or 1-mile races. The whole family can participate in this run that benefits the Arthritis Foundation. Downtown Bend.

Following the annual Jingle Bell run in the morning, Bend’s annual Christmas parade will begin at noon. The holiday tradition features floats from local businesses and community organizations. This year’s theme is “Christmas Surprises.” Free. Downtown Bend.

Featuring the eighteen-piece Tower Big Band, A Tower Christmas is a holiday tradition in Bend. This year’s theme is “Swing into the Holidays,” and the family-friendly performances will feature classic as well as contemporary holiday music. $12-$17. Tower Theatre.

Each year, snowmobile enthusiasts convene around the state to ride together on snowmobile trails, talk about snow safety and the sport and connect with a community of fellow snowmobilers. The Oregon State Snowmobilers forty-sixth annual event will be held in John Day this year. Prices vary.

In the third event of Mt. Bachelor’s annual Après Ski Bash series, listen to live music from Swatkins & The Positive Agenda, a funk and soul group from Portland. The event is open to all ages, and there are local drinks and bites to sip and snack on while you stay warm by the fire....

Known as the lead singer of Pink Martini, China Forbes will be in Bend for the Jazz at the Oxford series, which brings world-renowned jazz musicians and singers to Bend. She’ll perform three times throughout the weekend at 10 Below at the Oxford Hotel, and will be including some original music in her sets. $49....

In the third weekend of jazz performances from the Mt. Bachelor Riverhouse Jazz series, bassist Buster Williams, drummer Lenny White and pianist George Colligan combine their talents to form a world-class trio.
