Featured Artist in September at Tumalo Art Co.—Bruce Jackson
September 6, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pmfree
Tumalo Art Co. features new fine art photographs by Bruce Jackson in September focusing on “The Language of Trees”. The show opens during Bend’s First Friday Gallery Walk September 6, from 4-8pm.
Exquisitely composed, zen-like images of Central Oregon and beyond, are Jackson’s hallmark. His iconic photos titled, “The Summit-Mt. Bachelor” and “Pine Marten-Mt. Bachelor”, reproduced as open edition prints, have become collectors items. A Sierra Club Photography Competition Grand Prize winner, Jackson defines his photographic process as moving meditation.
“With each season, deciduous trees express a multitude of unique personalities, and once again remind me why I love photographing them”, says Jackson. “Vulnerable bare shapes revealed in winter, speak to the strength at their core. As spring arrives, trees offer up shockingly vibrant greens, stating their ability to thrive through adversity. As temperatures rise and leaves settle into deeper shades of green, they seem to be saying;’rest your eyes, the real show is yet to come.’ Fall arrives, and trees shift from summer slumber, to all out riotous expression. Having shed their coats of gold, the cycle begins anew.”
Tumalo Art Co. is an artist-run gallery in the heart of the Old Mill District, open seven days a week. www.tumaloartco.com; 541-385-9144.
