It is easy for some people to dismiss dirt. But what is soil, why is it so important, and what different types exist in this region? How do soil properties relate to other aspects of an ecosystem? Dr. Ron Reuter, associate professor of natural resources at OSU-Cascades, will draw from his research in Oregon, as well as Costa Rica and Abu Dhabi, to give you a new perspective on the ground beneath your feet.
