Sterling silver; elegant and forgiving, the metal of choice for many professional jewelers, is also easy to work with for a beginner. Have you ever wanted to design and create your own necklace and earrings, or make a piece for someone else? Join us at Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts and Agriculture to learn basic jewelry making techniques with the founder of Branch+Barrel Designs and former PMR artist in residence, Laura Rubin.
During this workshop you will learn:
How to design and create a pair of earrings and a necklace.
How to cold forge sterling silver with basic jeweler’s tools.
Basic techniques of finishing and wire wrapping your pieces with various adornments.
Materials to bring:
-Tools and materials will be provided but feel free to bring any of your personal jewelry making tools and materials you may want to use.
-There will be one optional extra hour of studio time at the end of the workshop, if you would like to stay longer.
-A snack and a waterbottle are recommended.
