Weekend Roundup July 11-16

Summer is officially in full swing here in Central Oregon and there is plenty of live music with the Bend Summer Festival, Munch and Music, and Slightly Stoopid coming to town. There are also some awesome events with the Gravicross and the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show going down.

Munch and Music 2019

July 11 | Bend | Free

Bend’s favorite free summer concert series is back for 2019. Kicking things off this Thursday is a Heartbreakers tribute band Petty Thievery with special guest Juju Eyeball. The outdoor concert will kick off at 5:30 in Drake Park with some of the areas best food vendors. There will also be shopping along with the craft and fine art row and youth activities in the kid’s zone. Deschutes Brewery will be on hand with the Libation Station serving up beer, wine, and cocktails.

Yeehaw! A Western Burlesque Bonanza

July 11 | Bend | $30

This Thursday join Bend Burlesque for a unique show that combines theater and burlesque into one wild ride. Yee-Haw was conceived by a rag-tag group of burlesque dancers and old-timey sinners. If you’re looking for a modern take on an old western story, a laugh, some scantily clad saloon gals, and are generally looking to be slightly unsettled, then they’ve got a show for you!

First Interstate Bank Bend Summer Festival 2019

It’s not officially summer in Bend until the Bend Summer Festival takes over downtown. Drawing nearly 40 thousand locals and visitors each year for a weekend like no other, the Summer Festival has little something for everyone. With three stages of first-class blues, rock and jazz from Central Oregon and across the nation, plus a gourmet food and wine marketplace, an artist promenade and some of Central Oregon’s most popular eats and drinks, this year’s Summer Festival is sure to get this season started off right.

Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show 2019

The Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show is internationally recognized as the world’s largest outdoor quilt show and quilt sale, displaying more than 1300 quilts representing fiber artists from around the world. This is the biggest event comes through Sisters annually and it features master quilt makers teaching classes and workshops during Quilt Week and showing off their quilts at the annual Quilt Show. More than 10,000 visitors from all 50 states and 27 foreign countries flock to Sisters for this crafty and artful weekend in July. It is the mission of the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show to educate the public about the art, skill, and heritage of traditional and contemporary quilts and fiber arts while enhancing the cultural vitality of the community of Sisters and Central Oregon.

GraviCross Presented by 10 Barrel

Mountain bike season is upon us and with the recent rains and cool June weather, the trails are in great shape throughout Central Oregon. With the snows finally starting to recede from Mt. Bachelor it is time for Bends one-of-a-kind GraviCross. Back for the third year, Gravicross is open to all levels of cyclists looking to compete in this bike park-inspired, short course event that mixes a variety of skills from downhill mountain biking to cyclo-cross, pushing riders to their limits. This is a mountain bike event tailor-made for Bend and the unique set of skills that riders develop on the diverse selection of trails that Central Oregon has to offer.

Deschutes Dash Sports Festival 2019

Featuring Olympic and sprint distance triathlons, multisport aquabike and duathlon events, and 5K and 10K running events, the Deschutes Dash is a great time for athletes and spectators alike. The event is recognized as one of the most spectator-friendly, multi-sport venues in the Pacific Northwest and is an excellent event to bring the whole family out to enjoy. Watch swimmers, cyclists and runners from one of the many fantastic vantage points — from the footbridges traversing river or the winding paths along the river bank. Deschutes Brewery beer will be on tap, food vendors will be on location and an army rock climbing wall will let you test your skills.

You’ll have plenty to choose from between Munch and Music and the Bend Summer Festival but in case you are looking for more tunes this weekend Slightly Stoopid plays with special guests Tribal Seeds, Matisyahu & HIRIE on Saturday, July 13 at Les Schwab Amphitheater.
