Behind The Scenes of Bend’s Adult Hockey League

Thanks to the long lens and quick shutter of photographer Trevor Lyden, we had more pictures than pages for our feature story on Bend’s adult ice hockey D-League. Lyden snapped dozens of images that capture the spirit of a growing group of adult players participating in a beginners-only league. On-ice shots and behind the scene images show the small triumphs and tribulations of these players.

Currently, Ponch’s Place has four food trucks and a taproom with a selection of ten beers and ciders on tap. The taproom roof extends over eight or so large picnic tables, with heaters in the ceiling for chilly days. Several more picnic tables are scattered in the sun. A large gas firepit is on the east side of Ponch’s, dividing the seating area from the food trucks, with a patio and grass area lying opposite.
